I am the niche

Hi, I’m Numan Ahmad, a Computer Science major with a passion for growth, creativity, and community. From the day I was born, medicine has been a significant part of my identity. Growing up in a culture where “doctor” is often the ultimate goal, I embraced this path early. I'm a huge biryani fan.But this website? It’s my chance to unlock my potential and step into my truest self.

CREATIVITY MEETS DETERMINATION

In my earlier years, I explored music production using GarageBand and FL Studio, honing my skills and building a creative outlet I still cherish. Later, I enrolled in Texas A&M’s Partnership for Primary Care BS/MD program, a journey that has instilled confidence in my ability to one day become a physician. While my MCAT score was not what I hoped for, I’m not giving up. I believe that with hard work, perseverance, and the right mindset, I can achieve my goals.

COMMUNITY OF DREAMERS

This website is more than just a personal project; it’s a platform for growth—for me and for you. My vision is to create a space where people from all walks of life can come together, support one another, and strive for success in their own pursuits.Life is full of choices, and every decision shapes our future. Accountability is one of the most important lessons I’ve learned in college, and it’s a value I want to share with this community. Let’s embrace the hard choices, support one another, and make the right ones. It’s time to lock in and chase our dreams together. Let’s get to work.

MEDICINE

As you might know, the MCAT is incredibly challenging—wallah, it is the hardest exam I have ever taken in my life. After scoring a 502, which felt like a personal failure, I found myself questioning my ability to pursue a medical career. This experience planted seeds of internal resistance, but it also became a turning point.

On my first real attempt at the MCAT, I shared my experience in a score reaction video. Many viewers encouraged me to consider applying to DO schools, but I struggled to come to terms with the fact that I hadn’t secured a spot in medical school through my BS/MD program.

My culture’s expectations echoed loudly in my mind: Beta, you must become a doctor, lawyer, engineer, or computer scientist. Frustrated and disillusioned, I told myself that I never really wanted to be a doctor in the first place. This became my mantra, a defense mechanism of sorts—a classic case of belief perseverance.

Around this time, the MIT neurosurgeon, Goobie and Doobie, released videos offering his perspective on the state of healthcare today. He likened a patient to a house with a leaking roof, illustrating that much of modern medicine focuses on superficial fixes. For example, the role of a neurosurgeon, he explained, often involves replacing drywall and repainting walls damaged by the leak, rather than addressing the root cause—the hole in the roof.

After being removed from my BS/MD program and grappling with the reality of a disappointing MCAT score, I found myself harboring a growing resentment toward healthcare and the very idea of becoming a doctor.

At this point, I became increasingly frustrated with myself—for not enrolling at a better school, for losing the rare opportunity to matriculate through a BS/MD program, and for the decisions I had allowed myself to make. However, after learning about the neurosurgeon’s perspective, my resentment slowly shifted into curiosity. I began to question: Is medicine truly centered on patient care, or is it just a business? With zero dollars left in my pocket (all spent on AAMC Full-Length exams, of course), I found myself dreaming of becoming a businessman—but only on one condition: it had to be halal.
This curiosity sparked a revival of my interest in medicine. I started seeking more information and began to view healthcare through two lenses: the interpersonal satisfaction of patient interactions and the larger systemic forces shaping the industry. Around this time, I stumbled across Diary of a CEO's video discussing cancer rates and the simplicity of genuine cures for common health issues. I learned that nearly 90% of a person’s exposome—the environmental factors influencing health—is within their control. Through exercise and diet, individuals can largely dictate their own health outcomes.
As I reconciled this period of cognitive dissonance, my perspective on medicine began to shift. I grew increasingly intrigued by Osteopathic Medicine—a holistic approach that emphasizes addressing the root causes of disease rather than relying solely on medication as a means to sustain life. I came to understand that a doctor’s role is not simply to cure patients for financial gain but to assess their condition, foster accountability, and inspire a mindset that empowers them to take control of their health.
The holistic philosophy of DO medicine, which examines a patient’s condition from the roots of disease to its impact on the human spirit and soul, gave me a sense of fulfillment. I realized that an Osteopathic education would provide the tools I needed to help solve patients’ dilemmas at their core. For three months, I took a step back to rest, reframe my vision, and plan my next steps. In this period of reflection, I rediscovered my drive and decided to continue preparing for this important test.I now feel confident that I have found my calling.

STUDY MATERIAL

As you can see, my score improved significantly, rising from 489 to 502. I believe this increase is a testament to the power of determined study and effective preparation. One of the key tools in my journey was a custom Anki deck I created, based on educational objectives from questions I answered incorrectly on UWorld’s platform. For those of you aspiring to enter the field of medicine, this deck might be a valuable resource. While it is personalized to address my own areas of weakness, it still offers an excellent review of core concepts. Each card includes an educational objective directly from UWorld and AAMC practice tests, providing concise and targeted explanations. I hope this resource can assist you in your journey toward a medical career.

Many years ago I made mistakes.
Yesterday I made mistakes.
Today I made mistakes.

The recognition of these experiences has become a manifestation of my repentance (tawbah, توبة). Yet, despite my past decisions—whether good or bad, deliberate or unavoidable—I remain alive, healthy, capable, and blessed with countless opportunities.Perhaps you are not pursuing a medical career, and it’s possible you haven’t made the same mistakes I have. But one thing unites us: we all make mistakes. Such is the human condition. For me, this journey is about maximizing and actualizing my potential, but I don’t believe this ambition is unique to me. If you’re reading this, the same applies to you. From an Islamic perspective, we know that our souls are endowed with free will. Many moments in my life feel like an amaanah (trust) from Allah, who has blessed us both with time, energy, and abilities to succeed.

PRODUCING

I think being able to translate your thoughts into actual sounds that you can share with others is especially powerful."But bro, music is haram!"To be honest I doubt this is the truth. Music is one of the best motivators for me. It's also pretty good when you produce your own. Have you ever had a rhythm or melody stuck in your head? I made this beat after studying for the MCAT in between my thesis study sessions. I think it's decent but I can do better in the future when time is not an issue.
